All our cakes, cupcakes and cookies are custom made and can be designed to be all about those amazing people or events in our lives that make life such a special occasion....and so very sweet.
From as far back as I can remember I've always been in love with things that were baked. Growing up, my mother worked for Sara Lee Kitchens and would bring home an array of cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, pound cakes, and danishes on a regular basis. I think this may have had something to do with my relentless obsession to sweets. As the years passed and my tastes evolved, I came to relish fresh baked scones, squares, tarts, pies, cookies and especially cakes. Layered cakes, coffee cakes, pound cakes, sponge cakes, cheesecakes, you name it, I love them all! But the thing is, I have a real preference for cakes that are homemade. For me there's nothing like it and so I've always been a baker. Baking homemade desserts for my family and friends over the years has been a real joy. And so, Butterfly Cakebox is my way of sharing with you my love of homemade cakes so that you too, can enjoy them, as you celebrate life and the people you love. After all, let's face it, life is meant to be sweet!
Having always been attracted to design, at Butterfly Cakebox, I've merged my passion for baking and my penchant for design to create cakes that are not only delicious, but personalized to suit your tastes and budgets. Working carefully with each client I can make a cake that will not only delight your taste buds but will create lasting memories for years to come.

Royal Wedding Cake Decorating Contest
In April 2011, Jackie Thompson, of Butterfly Cakebox, won 2nd Place in the Good Food Festival's Royal Cake Decorating Contest judged by Food Network Canada's 'Ace of Cakes', Duff Goldman.
